My journey began as a kid growing up in LA (Lower Alabama). Our family-owned a Dairy Farm, but my passion was in the Garden. My Mom and us kids tended the vegetable garden. Although I was not fond of vegetables, I'd still eat what we grew. The tastiest memories were plucking bell peppers off the vine and eating them like apples. 

My time working as an Army Ranger disconnected me from the life of gardening, but it did give me a glimpse of what true Food Insecurity looks like and how it influences the fragility of civilization.

For the last 15 years, I've consistently maintained a backyard garden. I know that I need to support a family of four in the long term. 

I needed to start using my backyard space to grow enough food to maintain the minimum caloric needs of our family.

I quickly realized that making a wood box and putting dirt in it was not sufficient.
